Kate first started learning about invasive plants which eventually led her to native plants and their importance to biodiversity. She has a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Alberta and currently works with an environmental non-profit organization on issues relating to riparian health.

Kate has been an active volunteer with the ENPS for nearly ten years and previously held the role of secretary.
