ENPS shared information at this community event in the Balwin neighbourhood on September 21.
On Saturday, September 21, the Sinkunia Community Development Organization met to harvest and celebrate the vegetables grown in their large garden in the Balwin neighbourhood. ENPS had initially been invited to speak to their seniors group about native plants; however the opportunity to reach a more diverse group of all ages presented itself with the Harvest Festival. ENPS volunteer Natasha Stairs set up an information table, but ended up walking about, admiring the vast array of tomatoes, pumpkins, carrots and other vegetables available for participants to take home. She had some great conversations about native plants and the possibility of adding some to the garden space. What a wonderful way to spend a gorgeous fall afternoon!
