Bunchberry Meadows

Project Lead:
Cherry Dodd
Two volunteers planting in sandy soil

Several years ago we were asked to restore two plots of land near the entrance to Bunchberry Meadows. The two plots are quite different, one is a dry sandy prairie while the other is rich, sandy and peaty soil next to a small wetland. Both plots are filling in nicely. It's a wonderful place to volunteer with unusual plant species and an abundance of butterflies and birds. Cherry Dodd, project leader, has a walk and talk each week around the beds to see what has changed and what is blooming. Work bees are on Mondays, as scheduled and weather permitting, from 12 noon to 3 p.m.
